IFIP is the main international organization in the information technology (IT) field, with a prestigious history and many major contributions to the field.

SIT Graduate Wins Best Paper Award at ICIS 2020

The winning paper discusses the most effective organizational team structure to develop and deliver software products to the market faster. Zorin and Jungpil consider two different approaches to forming development teams: the customer-centered feature team and the system architecture-centered component team. The main difference between the two is that feature teams deliver fully integrated, “vertical” pieces of software to end-users, while component teams focus on specific software layers or modules.

Science and Technology Institute Launches Unique Master’s Program

To tackle the shortage of potential leaders joining the digital sector, the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) has crafted a new course: Masters of Science (MSc) in Computer Science and Software Engineering – to better prepare graduates for leadership roles, specifically within the IT and Science disciplines. Launching in September 2020, the newly developed program is available for students with Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Software Engineering who have ambitions to be a part of the next generation of technical leaders.

SIT Launches Its First SIT STAR Contest for Talented Students

In June 2020, a new research-led university, the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) launches its first SIT STAR Contest. The competition aims to promote interest in the field of Computer Science and Software Engineering. Students from EU/EFTA, Eastern Europe (including Russia), South Asia or Southeast Asia will have a chance to demonstrate their knowledge of programming. The best will receive fully or partially funded graduate scholarships for one of SIT’s Master’s programs.
