Innovation Community Manager

Position Overview:

As an Innovation Community Manager, you will be instrumental in fostering a holistic ecosystem for young entrepreneurs. This role demands a dynamic individual with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. You will be a vital force in orchestrating impactful initiatives within Synthesis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Building: Cultivate and manage the community of youth entrepreneurs in the ecosystem, creating a collaborative and supportive network.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Drive the recruitment process for talented entrepreneurs, providing comprehensive information, consultations, and seamless onboarding support.
  • Create and maintain a community platform: Create a community platform and increase engagement online and in
  • Events and Workshops: Curate and execute diverse workshops, fireside chats, and campus events to encourage a multifaceted exchange of ideas within the community.
  • Communication Strategy: Develop and implement a robust communication strategy, encompassing social media plans, newsletters, and interactive platforms to enhance community engagement. Conceive and coordinate the internal and external communication strategies in collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring a cohesive and compelling presentation of programs.
  • Student Support: Act as the primary contact point for students, offering comprehensive advice, support, and resources to aid in their entrepreneurial journey.
  • Mentorship Program: Oversee and enhance the mentoring program, ensuring meaningful guidance and support for startup founders.
  • Professional Communication: Maintain professional communication internally (students, faculty, admin) and externally (trainers, mentors), fostering a transparent and collaborative
  • Co-working & Makerspace Management: Manage the co-working & Makerspace, transforming it into a vibrant hub that supports creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Grant Support: Provide comprehensive support for students and researchers with grant applications, i.e. EXIST and other funding sources.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience working with startups and entrepreneurship education.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to work independently and reliably. 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is adaptable to change.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Profound knowledge of entrepreneurship concepts and community building.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in software tools for scheduling, communication, and data analysis.
  • Passion for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Knowledge of building ecosystems and experience in an international environment.
  • Fluency in English and preferably German.
  • Knowledge of the startup scene in Germany, specifically Bremen and the surrounding area.
  • Self-organization skills and curiosity towards digital tools & automation.
  • Open feedback culture & team understanding.

Bonus:

  • Experience working at an academic institution.
  • Experience with EXIST and other startup grants is highly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business studies or entrepreneurship) or equivalent working experience(3-4 years)
