Professor Wolfgang Wahlster, pioneer of ai in Germany, joins Schaffhausen Institute of Technology advisory board
August 19, 2021, Schaffhausen, Switzerland – Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) announced today that Wolfgang Wahlster, a professor and pioneer of AI in Germany, will join SIT´s Strategic Advisory Board.
The current portfolio and future plans of SIT in the field of MI sparked interest from Professor Wahlster, who was approached by SIT as an expert for its Strategic Advisory Board with a focus on AI.
Wahlster, founding director of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and long-time CEO and scientific director, developed DFKI into one of the world’s largest research institutions in the AI sector. The legendary AI expert will be joining SIT’s Advisory Board, strengthening the institution’s expertise in AI science and technology.
Wahlster will support SIT in setting up research units in the AI domain, specifically focusing on AI in different areas: for design and improvement of new intelligent materials, life science and drug discovery, education in augmented reality, sports and smart living and business.
SIT’s research plans, linked to the AI sector, are expected to see a significant increase in productivity and innovation thanks to the expertise of Wahlster. With Wahlster as the newest Advisory Board Member, SIT’s already established presence in the field of Quantum now expands to AI technology.
