Dr. Rösler was born in Vietnam. He was the first cabinet minister and vice-chancellor of Asian background in Germany. Before entering politics, Rösler was a cardiothoracic surgeon.

Member of the supervisory boards of various European companies, including Siemens Healthineers AG and the energy supplier Fortum. He is a former Vice Chancellor of Germany and now Vice Chairman in the board of governors of both Constructor University Bremen and Constructor Institute Schaffhausen.
