Markus Gross is a Professor of Computer Science and the director of the Computer Graphics Laboratory of ETH Zurich since 1994. He received his degrees from the University of Saarbrucken, Germany, and previously worked at the Computer Graphics Center in Darmstadt.
His research interests include point based graphics, physics-based modeling, multiresolution analysis and virtual reality. He has taught courses at major graphics conferences and served as an associate editor and member of program committees for many graphics conferences.
Dr. Gross is also a member of the ETH research and planning commissions. In 2008, Gross was appointed Director of Disney Research Zurich, one of the 6 research labs worldwide launched by The Walt Disney Company.
