Lita Nelsen

Lita Nelsen is Director of the Technology Licensing Office at MIT, managing over 500 new inventions per year and negotiating over 100 licenses and 20 new startups.
She earned BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering and an MS in Management from MIT. Prior to joining MIT, Nelsen spent 20 years in industry in membrane separations, medical devices, and biotechnology.
She served as President of the Association of University Technology Managers and is a founding member of the Center for Management of Intellectual Property in Health Research. Nelsen is widely published in the field of technology transfer and university-industry collaborations.
