Artur Ekert

Professor of Quantum Physics at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, UK, a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, and a Distinguished Professor at the National University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society.

Artur Ekert is a Professor of Quantum Physics at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, UK, a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, and a Distinguished Professor at the National University of Singapore. He was a founding Director of the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore.

Ekert is one of the inventors of quantum cryptography, and his research encompasses most aspects of information processing in quantum-mechanical systems. He has collaborated with and provided counsel to several companies and government agencies. Ekert has received several awards, including the 1995 Maxwell Medal and Prize from the Institute of Physics, the 2007 Royal Society Hughes Medal, and the 2019 Micius Prize. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society.
